Jalal had to flee from Afghanistan after the Taliban took power. Afghanistan has entered a new phase in it's long history of ravenous war and violence causing the deaths of tens of thousands and the displacement of millions. Artists and other professionals of culture are who already struggled before the Taliban took power are now facing even more difficulties pursuing their work.

Jalal managed to get out. His work is now available for purchase as a limited edition giclée artwork.
